Titans, a live-action Teen Titans series confirmed by DC

April 25th, 2017 by Marc Comments

So, in 2015, when The CW’s DC TV Shows were really starting to take off there was a lot of news about a new Teen Titans live-action TV series at TNT.

Sadly though it soon became dead in the water. However, early last year DC Chief Geoff Johns said the series was certainly still on the radar (here)… and it looks like he wasn’t wrong. “It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”

The series will be produced by Johns along with Greg Berlanti – the man behind The CW shows – and Akiva Goldsman – the writer of, em, Batman & Robin.

The series will air exclusively on DC’s new streaming service – so not part of The CW universe then? Boooooooo – and will be joined by the previously confirmed Young Justice Season 3.

The Titans pilot was written by Goldsman and will likely focus on Dick Grayson moving from being Robin to being Nightwing, the leader of a new team of young heroes featuring the likes of Raven and Starfire. Oh, and a certain little green guy…

The show’s are likely to arrive in 2018 and we’ll give you more as and when we get it…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
