Trollhunters season 2 casts Mark Hamill, Lena Headey and David Bradley

September 27th, 2017 by Dave Bowling Comments

Guillermo del Toro’s animated Trollhunters series is nearing the release of its second season on Netflix, and some more details have been released on what we can expect.

Specifically, Lena Headey, David Bradley and the legend of voice acting and lightsaber combat that is  Mark Hamill have all signed on. No actual character names have been released but Hamill will voice a previously unknown older brother to a member of the Trollhunting team who is allied to the evil Gunmar. Headey will play a powerful evil sorceress whose plans must be foiled at any cost. Bradley voices a mysterious man with a huge amount of magical power, although the Trollhunting team will find out he’s not the powerful wizard they were expecting.

Other casting announcements include the decision to retain the late Anton Yelchin as lead character Jim Lake. Yelchin had apparently finished recording dialogue for the second season shortly before his death last year and del Toro was adamant it be used.

There’s no confirmation on when Netflix will make season 2 available, but you’ll know when we do.

Dave was born at an early age to parents of both sexes. He has been a self-confessed geek for as long as he can remember, having been raised through the 80s on a steady diet of Doctor Who, Star Trek, Red Dwarf and (sigh) Knight Rider. Throw the usual assortment of Saturday morning cartoons into the mix and we have something quite exceptional: someone with an encyclopaedic knowledge of utter tosh; a love of giant robots and spaceships fighting; and the strange desire to leap tall buildings in a single bound while wearing his underpants over his trousers. The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
