Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin set for Hawkeye series with other Netflix stars following soon?

July 25th, 2021 by Marc Comments

We have been reporting for a while now that Charlie Cox, he of Netflix Daredevil fame, will be finally, officially joining the MCU in the upcoming Spider-man: No Way Home (here), with many reports/sources claiming that the start will likely not be the same Matt Murdock/Daredevil we met before but an alternate version that officially exists within the MCU and will be legally defending Tom Holland’s Peter Parker after his secret identity as Spider-man was outed to the world at the end of Far From Home.

And, yes, we’ve been hearing that Marvel/Disney are wanting to bring several of the Netflix stars into the MCU official down the line, now that Netflix can no longer hold them up from developing Daredevil, Punisher etc themselves… and now it seems Marvel is planning on doing it in a big way and, if true, Matt Murdock won’t be the only returning face we see in 2021.

No the Marvel Spoilers page on Reddit has claimed that verified sources have told them that Vincent D’Onofrio will be appearing in the fifth episode of Disney+’s upcoming six-part Hawkeye series as Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin.

They claim that Cox was meant to appear as Murdock (as well as in Spider-man) but he was unable to due to scheduling, so they decided to use Kingpin instead.

We have known for a while that Hawkeye and Ms Marvel are both expected to air on Disney+ in 2021 and this report claims that Hawkeye will air around the same time as Spider-man: No Way Home (December), so we’re expecting this could mean that Marvel/Disney may be planning on having the two characters appearing in the same week, welcoming the Netflix shows into the MCU in a big way… and blowing fans’ minds.

It should be noted that even though this is a Reddit page, it has been on the money with several reports about the Disney+ shows in the past.

But, that’s not all.

I’m now hearing that the MCU may soon be welcoming back Kristen Ritter as Jessica Jones very soon as well as Jon Berenthal as The Punisher and this has me very excited… the idea of Marvel being able to finally bring everyone home, is pretty great and, throw in Kevin Feige briefly discussing bringing Venom into the MCU and the fact that Morbius is already connected (here), and it’s all pretty great news for Marvel fans.

And let’s not forget Deadpool’s unofficial/official MCU debut (here).

On top of this, we’re hearing rumours that we may see the awesome Hayley Atwell returning to the live-action MCU soon too. We know that Atwell will be returning for the What If…? animated series next month as Captain Carter, an alternate version of the character who gets the super-soldier serum rather than Steve Rogers (here) BUT we’re also hearing that Atwell could appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness as a live-action version of Captain Carter and all I can say is… yes, please!

Anyway, if I were a betting man, I’d be putting money on a lot of this being on the money but we’ll never really know until we’re actually watching it unfold on screen.

Would you be excited for the return of The Defenders cast and Hayley Atwell? Let me know…
