Want to hear a bit of news that is complete speculation but also very exciting?

Well…

Ok, so Marvel.com have put up a post featuring their biggest stars from SDCC – it includes Captain Marvel, Dr Strange, Mantic (from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2), Ego (Starlord’s dad… probably), Luke Cage (coming to Netflix), Ghost Rider (Set for Agents of SHIELD) and right in the middle… Legion.

Huh?

Well, here’s the thing, Legion is actually an X-Men TV show, which Marvel co-produced with FOX. It stars Dan Stevens and tells the story of Professor X’s son.

Which to us means it’s bound to be a FOX show. Yet, Marvel have clearly said it’s part of the MCU.

Interestingly, at SDCC Scott Derrickson, the director of Doctor Strange, did also say that Doctor Strange will begin the “Marvel Cinematic Multiverse”.

What does this mean? Well, to us it looks like maybe, just maybe, X-Men and the MCU are, as is oft rumoured, finally becoming one body. Even if they do go down the DC Route of having many universes.

But we doubt it, we reckon this could be the start of us finally seeing The X-Men and The Avengers meeting on the big screen. Now, wouldn’t that be something indeed…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
