WATCH: Amazon pulls the plug on Frost and Pegg’s Truth Seekers after just one season

February 15th, 2021 by Marc Comments

Unexpected, but not surprising, news this morning as Nick Frost has revealed that Truth Seekers, the ghost hunting comedy-drama series he stars in along with Simon Pegg, has been cancelled after one season by Amazon.

“It’s a massive kick in the willy,” Frost said in a post he shared on Instagram (below) earlier when he broke the news.

The series which Frost created with best friend and collaborator Simon Pegg, was about a group of amateur ghost hunters who stumbled upon something much, much bigger than a few spooks in a couple of haunted English homes.

“Sadly, Truth Seekers will not be returning for a second season,” Frost continued.

“Truth Seekers has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me. We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you. And if you didn’t, are you happy now? Happy now?”

The series starred Frost as Gus, Pegg as Dave, Samson Kayo as Elton, Malcolm McDowell as Richard, Emma D’Arcy as Astrid and Susan Wokoma as Helen.

While I was actually a big fan of the first season, I can see why many weren’t… it was a slow burner that really didn’t get into the bigger story until the last episode or two but it did promise much bigger things in season 2 that would really have opened the world of the show up. Sadly, it’s not world we’ll be seeing more of.

Did you like Truth Seekers? Let me know your thoughts, guys.
