May 22nd, 2022 by Marc Comments

Ahead of Stranger Things season 4 part one arriving this Friday, Netflix have released the first eight minutes of the season’s first episode.

And it gives us a whole new perspective on Matthew Modine’s Dr Brenner who we see here as a caring professional before something terrible changes his whole persona and we really don’t believe what we’re seeing here is what is really happening… but that’ll all be revealed on Friday.

As well as the clip, Netflix has revealed the episodes that will be released as season 4 part one and part two as well as their running time:

Episodes 1 to 6: Roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes each.
Episode 7: 1 hour and 38 minutes.
Episode 8: 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Episode 9: 2 hours and 30 minutes.

That’s a beast of a season.. maybe too much? The last episode of longer than 90% of movies and each episode had a reported budget of $30m!

Anyway, check out the first eight minutes below and let us know your thoughts…

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
