While there’s already a lot of kerfuffle over Kevin Smith’s He-Man sequel series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, it seems that the showrunner has just dropped a bit of news that might put a few noses belonging to fans of the classic series out of joint.
In a recent interview with Nerdist (below), Smith revealed that a fairly big character in the He-Man mythology will be killed off in the series.
But who, I hear you ask! Well, it’s going to see the end of Orko.
Who is Orko, I hear you young ‘uns ask, well: Orko was the greatest wizard back on his world of Trolla, where he was known as “Orko the Great” amongst his fellow Trollans. After accidentally arriving on Eternia during the season of storms, Orko was adopted by the Royal family. Orko has constantly proved his worth, while his amusing tricks and quick wit entertain the Royal court.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the fandom reacts to this series in general but this bit of news might just make the show an even more bitter pill to swollow.
Check out Smith’s revelation *ahem* below:
Kevin Smith spoiled a MOTU character death in a Nerdist interview. The video had a “mild spoiler” warning but was privated after fans said how major it actually was. I removed the spoiler from this clip, but thought the exchange about subverting fan expectations was worth seeing. pic.twitter.com/rKEDaM3L5L
