WATCH: NYCC Matt Ryan’s Constantine is back in trailer for new CW Seed Animated series

October 8th, 2017 by Marc Comments

If there is one show that the fans seem to really want back it’s Firefly. Then there’s Hannibal. But we’re confident that Constantine is up there too (remember #SaveConstantine?)…

And while it’s not exactly the same thing, we have Matt Ryan back as John Constantine in the new series from CW Seed which is set in the Arrowverse and continues where the live-action series finished of.

Sort of… we REALLY hope that someday they will  tie up THAT cliffhanger.

Anyway, the new series will be five or six ten minute episodes debuting in 2018 and will see Ryan as everyone’s favourite demon hunter back in the game.

And you can check out a new teaser for the series directly from New York Comic Con below.

Let us know your thoughts, guys…

This all-new animated series, from Warner Bros. Animation and Blue Ribbon Content, follows DC’s popular comic book character John Constantine (voiced by the live-action series star Matt Ryan), a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line‎, Constantine uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.

The Constantine animated series is produced by David S. Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy and the Constantine live-action series), Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl) and Sarah Schechter (Riverdale, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow). It’s also produced by Butch Lukic (Justice League Action, Batman Unlimited), written by J.M. DeMatteis (Justice League Dark, Batman vs. Robin) and will be directed by Doug Murphy (Justice League Action, Young Justice).

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
