You may recall last February David Tennant interviewed tv star Whoopi Goldberg on his podcast and during it, she was asked if she would like to return to Star Trek if the opportunity came up in the (then) future Picard series.
The actress replied: “For me, it was one of the best gigs ever because Star Trek was to me a really meaningful show.”
She added that, at the time, she had not be asked to return to the USS Enterprise as bartender Guinan, saying she would very much be keen.
Well, today – ahead of Picard’s first episode airing today – on The View Picard took the hint and said that he – and show runner Alex Kurtzman – would love to have her back.
While the star didn’t explicitly say ‘yes’, her delight at being invited was very, very obvious and was actually quite a heart-warming moment.
Check it out below, and I’d say it’s a safe back she’ll be returning for Season 2 if and when it happens.
