Get ready for the new daily show

WATCH: Rick and Morty Season 3 episode 1 unexpectedly aired yesterday and here’s our thoughts and a new clip

In typical Rick and Morty fashion fans got an unexpected look at Season three last night when show runners Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland unexpectedly released the first episode for a short while last night, it being April Fools and all.

Yes, as you can see from the tweets below, the show was released after being unceremoniously announced on Twitter and was released for a short period on Adult Swim’s website but sadly in no longer available. It was not available outside the US either, sadly.

And yes, we’ve seen the episode. Want to know what we thought?

Well, as always, it’s an episode full of humour, horror and brains, which is exactly why we love Rick and Morty.

We don’t want to spoil anything because the official airing is so far away but it does tie up season two’s cliffhanger (mostly) and it sees Rick outsmart the entire universe once again as only he can.

Oh and it has a glorious appearance by Nathan Fillion. So it’s sort of got everything.

Anyway, that’s all we’re saying (for now) so check out the tweets below and a special clip at the bottom of the page.

Meanwhile, here’s a new clip from Season 3 wherein Rick turns himself into a pickle.

Enjoy…

Rick and Morty Season 3 will arrive this summer.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
