With Doctor Who’s first season now over – still hate that it’s the first season for a show that has run for 60 years! – now over, I think it’s true to say it’s left a decided bitter taste in the mouth of many.
However, against all odds, the Christmas Day Special, Joy to the World, actually felt like old Doctor Who and had new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa feel more like the Timelord we know and love. That said, it was still far from perfect and if it was a Smith or Tennant era special, we’d have been underwhelmed, but as it is it’s a slightly shiny stone in the rough.

Does it mean we’re hopeful that the show will find its feet again in 2025’s season 2? No, not really, but we don’t feel quite as hopeless about it as we did.
Anyway, here’s the teaser for season 2.
