November 1st, 2018 by Marc Comments

Here’s the first teaser from FX for the New York based What We Do In The Shadows TV Series.

The movie focused on a group of vampires living together in a flat and instantly became a horror fan favourite and FX had ordered a pilot for a TV series… but now we can report that they have turned the offer of the pilot into a full 10-episode half-hour series run and we couldn’t be more excited.

“Set in New York City, the series follows three vampires who have been roommates for hundreds and hundreds of years. It will star Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen”

“’What We Do in the Shadows’ only gets better with age thanks to this brilliant adaptation for television by co-creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi,” said FX’s co-president of original programming Nick Grad.

“Their feature version was a hilarious, fresh take on the mundanity of everyday life that even immortals must face. We are thankful to them, Paul Simms and Scott Rudin, and this amazing cast for taking us deeper into the shadows with this series.”

Clement, Waititi, and Paul Simms will executive produce with Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, and Garrett Basch. Last we heard, Clement wrote the pilot and Waititi directed.

In addition to the TV series, Clement and Waititi are rumoured to be working on a sequel to the original movie that will be centred on a group of werewolves who appeared in the original and a spin-off series set in New Zealand following Karen and Mike, the bumbling cops who appeared briefly in the movie that is to be called Wellington Paranormal.

What We Do in the Shadows is set to follow a series of vampires coping with everyday life. The series is set to star Matt Berry (The I.T. Crowd) as Laszlo, Kayvan Novak (Thunderbirds Are Go) as Nandor, Harvey Guillen (Eye Candy) as Guillermo, and Natasia Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) as Nadja. The series will also include appearances from Doug Jones, Beanie Feldstein, and Craig Burnatowski.

The series arrives in Spring 2019
