The end is almost here…

Star Wars Rebels has thrilled us for four years and now it’s all coming to an end.

With the new trailer for the five remaining episodes having just dropped, producer Dave Filoni spoke to io9 about it and had this to say: “I hope [fans are] excited to tune in and see where this all goes. I hope [the trailer] really whets their appetite and anticipation. I hope some of them watch it and are able to say to their friends “See! I told you this is where it’s going.” I hope some of them are like “Wow! I never thought that they would go to that place.”

“I hope it runs the gamut of different expectations but, in the end, gets them to watch how this all comes together. I think the team has done a great job making this series happen. I’m very proud of this series and how it’s turning out. [But] the fans are the ultimate judge and I’m excited for them to see it.

“It’s really the most fun time when they watch it. And you always have a little bit you’re worried about. Did you miss something? Some connection something that you meant to do? But I think we caught everything.”

There’s much to catch in the trailer including the return of the Mortis family from The Clone Wars:

And we also get to hear Ian McDiarmid’s voice as The Emperor facing aft against Ezra.

There’s more in there but we know that heartache and epicness are coming in droves, so get ready. The Force moves in peculiar ways.

Star Wars Rebels returns February 19th with two episodes, then two more on February 26th and then it all comes together with an extended finale on March 5th.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
