WATCH: Trailer, poster and air date for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters roar on to our screens

September 9th, 2023 by Marc Comments

We finally have a trailer for the Monsterverse series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and it’s a big as anything the series has done on the big screen! and it has Kurt Russell and John Goodman!!!

Following on from the story set up in Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs Kong (2021), Skull Island took the story to our TV screens and in November Apple TV is set to do the same thing with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, exploring the history of the mysterious organisation Monarch, which we saw established in Kong: Skull Island over a period of seventy years and we now have our first look at the series.

The series will see Kurt Russell and his son, actor Wyatt Russell, play Army Officer Lee Shaw over the course of those years to tell a truly legacy-spanning story.

It seems that it will focus on a smaller, more human story that takes place in a world of goliaths and kaiju and with the Russells starring, I couldn’t be more excited.

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.

Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.

Based on the Monsterverse from #Legendary, and starring Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, this dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
