Fallout 3 ranked among one of the best games of the last generation. The wide-open expanse of the Capital Wasteland was home to some of the most memorable moments in video gaming.
The last release for the Fallout franchise was Fallout: New Vegas in 2010, though the response to it was somewhat mixed. This was more than likely due to no significant evolution in game mechanics, and that it was not developed by Bethesda.
However, in less than 24 hours, it appears that we may have our first official confirmation that Bethesda is returning to Fallout. While there is absolutely no information about the story, gameplay or location yet, many rumours have been circulating for the past several years. It is rumoured, based on leaked reports, and the frequent references in Fallout 3, that Boston will be the location of the latest entry, and that you will play a man/woman who was living in America, before the bombs dropped, but wake up in the wasteland.
We won’t have to wait too long to see if these rumours are true (though I feel fairly confident the game will be set in Boston). Who knows what new additions will be brought to the latest entry in this venerable franchise, but one thing remains certain… War… War never changes.
