HBO have confirmed that their Westworld series, which was set to be finished in November, has stalled for two months.
The series will now pick up again in March, which is a significant set back.
However, in a statement, HBO say the series will still arrive in 2016 (it hasn’t had a release date so far in 2016 as it was originally set for 2015 (see the promo below)) and the reason for the halting is to ensure a the how is given the full treatment it deserves: “As we head into the final phase of production on ‘Westworld,’ we’ve made the decision to take a brief hiatus in order to get ahead of the writing,” said HBO.
The series is based on the 1973 film starring Yul Brynner in which a robot cowboy in a futuristic leisure park goes on a killing spree and stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden and Thandie Newton.
We are confident it will be worth the wait…
