WATCH: New fan project makes the battle between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan a bit more exciting

While we doubt anyone would argue that the original Star Wars trilogy is still the best, we have to admit that there are some arts of the movies that could possibly stand to be improved.

One scene is the final confrontation between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader at the end of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

While the fight was always a highlight of the movie, when the prequels came out and we saw Darth Maul battling Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, we were all wondering why Vader and Obi-Wan didn’t fight a bit more… exhuberantly.

Well, it seems that a fan – or rather a group of them – has taken it upon themselves to recreate the battle, having it fit a bit more comfortably in the universe where the prequels exist.

You can check out their first clip below and, like us, you just might find yourself excited for what’s to come in 2018.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
