Agents of SHIELD renewed for seventh season… but is the gang all back?

November 18th, 2018 by Marc Comments

We cannot tell a lie, this is a surprise as we were sure Agents of SHIELD was finished after the upcoming season.

But hey, we admit it… we were wrong.

ABC has renewed Agents of SHIELD for a seventh season BEFORE its sixth even airs!

Although, curiously, according to Variety, ABC have confirmed star Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez are all returning but, as of yet, have not confirmed Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson.

Surely they can’t make this show without Coulson? He’s as much part of the MCU as Hulk, Cap or Stark… he was there from the beginning!

We’re sure it’s not a confirmation that he’s not retuning and more likely linked to filming, wages or an oversight… hopefully.

Mind you, with the Marvel streaming service due next year, maybe Coulson is jumping from ABC to Marvel? Bet you hadn’t thought of that.

What do you all think?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
