Titans has cast its Superboy

February 28th, 2019 by Marc Comments

You’ll recall at the end of DC Universe’s Titans Season one we met two of DC’s coolest characters… Superboy and Krypto.

And although we only saw Superboy in silhouette, it was pretty obvious he was going to be appearing in Season 2.

And lo, he has been cast.

Joshua Orpin has signed on to play Conner Kent, aka Superboy on the streaming service’s show.

According to Deadline: “Orpin, a Melbourne native and graduate of the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, will be seen in the upcoming Foxtel drama series Upright and his most recent appearance was in The Blake Mysteries: Ghost Storiesfor the Seven Network in his native Australia. Orpin made his feature-film debut in The Neon Spectrum while his stage credits include A Midsummer Nights Dream for the Australian Shakespeare Company, The Matchmaker, The Tempest and The Diary of Anne Frank.”

This Superboy – he’s had a few origins in the comics – is Connor Kent, a genetically-engineered clone of Superman although the series may change some of his origins here.

The official description reads: Superboy, aka Conner Kent, is the angsty teenager of steel searching for purpose and the truth about his past. While looking for answers, he crashes into the world of the Titans where he finds an unlikely home and surrogate family as well as revelations that carry more complications than he ever bargained for.

We can’t wait for season 2… what did you all think of Titans? Let us know…

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
