Zack Snyder to film additional scenes with core cast for Justice League on HBO Max UPDATED Cavill says he’s not filming

Some more good news for fans of Zack Snyder and his upcoming cut of Justice League today, guys.

We already know that next year HBO Max will be bringing the director’s true vision of the movie – which was previously finished by Avengers’ Joss Whedon – to the small screen, giving fans the true continuation of his vision of the DC Universe he kicked off with Man of Steel and Batman V Superman. And we knew that HBO Max were giving him several million to finish effects, ADR and some post production work. And we learned that the movie was to be come a four-part TV event rather than just one big four-hour movie.

And now we know that next month Snyder will bring back stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman for new scenes to be shot for this new vision of the story. The shoot is expected to last a week.

We ofcourse know that Affleck is returning as Batman/Bruce Wayne for the upcoming Flash movie, but it looks like he’ll put the suit on for this first. We also know that Ray Fisher, despite having some issues with Warners at the minute, is set to return for Flash too and, same thing, this will have him in the silver first.

Now, to end the online cries of ‘told you it wasn’t finished!’ online, these reshoots are reportedly new scenes to help the movie work better as an episodic event rather than as one big movie and also word is it will allow Snyder to give the movie a more complete ending as his original movie was written with a sequel in mind.

This is very, very exciting news as any opportunity to put the Justice League back together is something to be celebrated.

Man, I’m crazy excited for this movie! Are you? Let me know…

UPDATE: Henry Cavill has apparently said he’s not filming anything for the movie, although Collider did note this interview took place before the news broke about the reshoots, so maybe Cavill is being cagey on purpose?

“Not shooting anything additional,” the star said.

“No. It’s all stuff that has been already done. Obviously I don’t know how things are going to evolve and change and adapt depending on now a different length of movie and whatever may happen in post-production. Whatever lessons may be learned from what is it four years since Justice League came out? Four years’ worth of fan reaction. For me…I’m now just watching the party.”
