Matt Damon is one of Affleck’s oldest friends and they have discussed a number of times in the media about their relationship. They lived just a few blocks over from one-another and as Affleck was a child star, Damon was inspired to follow in his footsteps.

Affleck then introduced Matt Damon to his agent and the rest, they say, is history. Would Matt Damon have made it without him? Who knows?

Affleck LOVES Poker

Ben Affleck is a huge lover of poker. We’ve already mentioned Ben Affleck’s relationship with Jennifer Lopez. They dated for a number of years and Lopez even wrote a song about him, entitled Dear Ben.

The lyrics read:

Sadly, it didn’t work out for the pair.

He’s A Big Fan Of The Red Sox

Having grown up in Massachusetts, it’s perhaps no surprise to hear that Ben Affleck is a huge Boston Red Sox fan and he gets down to Fenway Park whenever he can. But did you know that such is his passion that he got a movie shut down for a period of time because he point black refused to wear a New York Yankees cap?

During the filming of Gone Girl, they were filming a scene in which Affleck’s character, Nick Dunne, is trying to avoid recognition in an airport so puts on a baseball cap. The cap in question was set to be a Yankees one, given that the location they were on set was New York. Affleck was having none of it though, telling David Fincher, the movie’s director:

“David, I love you, I would do anything for you. But I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can’t. I can’t wear it because it’s going to become a thing, David. I will never hear the end of it. I can’t do it.”

In the end they compromised and he instead wore a Mets cap.
