Brian Lee O’Malley says he’s working on a secret Scott Pilgrim project…

July 7th, 2022 by Marc Comments

Ooooooh… exciting news for fans of Scott Pilgrim Vs the World and Brian Lee O’Malley just revealed he’s working on a secret Scott Pilgrim project!

Now, we already know he has a few exciting Scott Pilgrim projects on the go at the minute, including a gorgeous new set of figures (here), a Scott Pilgrim anime series at Netflix which he’s developing with Edgar Wright (here) and he and Wright are also developing a movie based on his graphic novel Seconds, which has cameos from Scott Pilgrim characters, so the idea that there’s a secret Pilgrim project has us all excited.

Posting an image of a blonde-haired girl on Instagram, O’Malley wrote: “Just drew this to see if i still know how to draw. I spend all my time working on a SECRET SCOTT PILGRIM PROJECT THAT NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT. No further questions at this time thank you god bless…”

Hmmmmmm…

Two years ago, when we reported there was an animated series in the works – which we now know there is – we also reported that a sequel to the iconic comic series might also be in development (here) could this be it? Well, maybe, but the post has O’Malley saying he’s working on a Scott Pilgrim project and did the drawing to see if he still knew how to draw, meaning that, whatever the project is, he’s not drawing it… I mean, we want a sequel but we’d also love to have him back on drawing duties. Or, maybe he means he’s writing it at the minute and warming up to do the art too.

Whatever it is, we’re excited as heck to have more from the world of Scott Pilgrim to look forward to.

Anyone else?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
