COMIC REVIEW: FTN reviews Revival #13

Writer: Tim Seeley

Art: Mike Norton

Revival is always one of my favorite comics, and it’s always one of the titles I read the night I get it. I have yet to ever be disappointed with an issue, and issue #13 is no exception.

Now a lot of people believe the number 13 is “bad luck”, so naturally some may think the 13th issue of a comic would be a disappointment. However those people will be glad to know that Revival #13 is one of the best Revival issues to date (in my opinion anyway). This issue has all the credentials of a great comic. It has blood, romance (it takes place on Valentines Day) and best of all the debut of ‘Yo! Tim Seeley raps’ karaoke edition. In all seriousness though, it appears closure has set in for at least one of the revivers, which could be a major turning point for the others in series. I think the best is yet to come, and something MAJOR is about to happen.

Norton’s art is as spectacular as ever. I really see him being nominated for an Eisner with this series next year. One thing I always notice right away in every issue of Revival are the eyes of the characters. They say the eyes are the windows of the soul and in this book you can almost feel the emotions of the characters and understand their story without even reading the dialogue. So Mr. Norton sit back and have a bottle of your favorite ale for a job well done.

Image definitely picked a winner with this series. Tim Seeley and Mike Norton are proving to be an unstoppable force in the comic world. Will anyone step up to try and take down this dynamic duo? Somehow I doubt it.
