Covers revealed for Dark Horse’s upcoming Star Wars: Legacy #1

February 18th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

According to series author Corinna Bechko, the second coming of Star Wars: Legacy will be first and foremost an adventure tale. It will star Anian Solo, a descendant of Han and Leia Organa Solo, and will take place in the aftermath of Star Wars: Legacy war, a comic mini which was set in the year 138 ABY (After Battle of Yavin). As the series jumps off, Solo will be running a junkyard on a backwater, Outer Rim Planet and living a life far removed from Emperors and their affairs. However, the first issue will see her come into possession of a lightsaber and an Imperial communications droid, and discover that she has been targeted for death,  in doing so being launched into an adventure unlike any she has ever experienced before. It’s nice to see the Solo luck, good and bad, will be intact. The backwater world will serve as a microcosm for greater galactic affairs, and the story will eventually expand outward from it, showing the reader what’s happening in the highest levels of galactic power.

To promote Legacy’s launch, Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman will be at Beach Ball Comics in Anaheim, California, on March 20th. March 23rd will see them and Dave Wilkins visit Collector’s Paradise in Winnetka, California, where an the exclusive Phantom variant of the series’ first issue will be available to guests. As far as I know this signing event will be your only chance to get a signed version. The variant cover was drawn by Hardmanas an homage to the classic 1977 poster for the original Star Wars film. The one on the bottom is the regular cover.
