SDCC 2026: Scott Pilgrim returns to comics, 16 years later!

Scott Pilgrim is back in a new one-shot comic book!

It’s been announced at SDCC2026 that Scott Pilgrim is coming home to the printed page in Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn of Metal Scott.

The [24-page] one-shot sees the eponymous protagonist finally enjoying a blissful relationship with Ramona without the interruption of the League of Evil Exes, only for a “new threat” to emerge. Based on Gizmodo’s reporting (and the 24-page comic’s title), said threat is our hero’s robotic doppelganger, Metal Scott.

If, like me, you’re a stickler for continuity, then it goes like this: The Original Comic, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (the Netflix show), Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn of Metal Scott, and then Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn of Metal Scot (video game).

On the new book, creator Bryan Lee O’Malley said: “When I was asked to create a minicomic for Scott Pilgrim EX, I quickly said yes without considering the implications. Only when I started writing and drawing it did I realize this would be the first new Scott Pilgrim comic in 16 years. It’s only a trifle, but returning to Scott’s Toronto really did feel like coming home.”

I wasn’t a Scott Pilgrim fan until the

Scott Pilgrim returns to comic shelves on Nov 15th, 2026.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
