Change is ever a part of the comic book universe. Whether it’s characters growing, evolving, getting new friends, enemies, powers, etc., it’s all a part of a day in the life of a hero/villain/key character. It was announced recently that Spider-Woman herself, aka Jessica Drew, would be getting a costume upgrade. The result is what you see above.

The one on the left is her (now) classic outfit, while the one on the right is her new look. Now, the question is, why the new look? Well not unlike Batgirl, who get a change of look in her solo comic, the costume is meant to reflect a change in tone for her series.

“Spider-Man isn’t really a detective — he swings around looking for trouble, whereas Jess needs to go and figure stuff out and dig things up, and you can’t really do that head to toe in spandex very well. To operate on the level she wants to, she needs something that can pass for semi-normal and she can turn it on to crazy if she needs to.”

So there you go, and in case you wanted a more detailed look at the outfit, here you go!
