SPOILERS!

It has been well known that Marvel Comics’ Star Wars line of books would be considered canon within Disney’s plans for the mega-franchise and today’s Star Wars #6 saw two huge reveals.

In issue #4 we were introduced to a mysterious masked and unnamed character who was looking for Han Solo on Tatooine by quite aggressively questioning some Rodians in the Mos Eisley Cantina which was quite reminiscent of another famous Star Wars scene. Today, that same was revealed as the wife of Han Solo, Sana Solo. (continues)

That’s right, the Galaxy’s most eligible bachelor is a taken man. The comic is set between the original film and Empire Strikes Back so this creates a new, really interesting facet to Solo’s character and dynamic between him and his romance with Princess Leia throughout the original trilogy.

Cover solicitations for issue #9 feature Sana prominently so we can assume that she will be staying around for the time being. Will she be an ally or a thorn in Han’s side? From what we’ve seen so far and Han’s ‘Oh no’ reaction, we are thinking the latter!

The second reveal fills in some plot between episode IV and V. Earlier issues of the comic had Darth Vader send bounty hunter Boba Fett to find a boy who had fought Vader using his old blue lightsaber during a rebellion raid on an Empire weapons. Unbeknownst to Vader this boy is his long thought dead son Luke and the same pilot who blew up the Death Star in A New Hope. With the new comics, canon and upcoming films and spin-offs, it’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan!
