August 30th, 2014 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

Cupid is coming to Starling City. well not that Cupid, like Ollie needs any help in that department.

According to EW Amy Gumenick (Supernatural, Turn) has been cast as the DC Comics character Carrie Cutter for an upcoming episode of The CW’s Arrow. In the comics, Cutter was a special ops soldier who underwent an experimental procedure. Losing her grip on sanity, she became the villain Cupid, who was obsessed with Green Arrow.

Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisberg who actually created comic version of Cupid in 2009 revealed:

“I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan. When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”

But that’s not all. We already knew that Arrow’s upcoming third season will reveal the “secret origin of Felicty Smoak” who is played by Emily Bett Rickards. Previously it was revealed that Charlotte Ross had joined the show as Smoak’s mother. Now according to  The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan Gerard Funk (Glee, Riddick) has joined the cast as Smoak’s hacker ex- boyfriend Cooper Seldon, from her days at MIT.

The pair joins a growing number of new additions to the cast which also includes Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer aka The Atom, J.R. Ramirez as Ted Grant aka Wildcat, Rila Fukushima as Tatsu Yamashiro aka Katana, Karl Yune as Katana’s husband Maseo Yamashiro, David Cubitt as Mark Shaw aka Manhunter, Peter Stormare as the new Count Vertigo, and an unknown Ra’s al Ghul who will be the main villain of the season.

Arrow Season 3 will debut on October 8th.
