It’s a hard time keeping on top of all the Captain America: Civil War stories that are flying around the Internet right now, but this trifecta of tales hint at a bit of things to come, and show off that there’s just as much fun being had behind the scenes at the MCU as there is on screen.

First things first, let’s talked about just how jam-packed Civil War is with new appearances. Black Panther, Spider-Man, Zemo… all of them are larger than life.

But the character that nobody seems to be talking about right now is Martin Freeman’s MCU debut as Everett Ross: could we have just met Marvel’s new Nick Fury in regards to a character flowing between films?

When speaking to Graham Norton, Freeman opened up about his introduction, and hinted at things to come; “It’s a fairly small role at this stage,” he says, “I think my character will develop a bit more as I enter the Marvel world a bit more which seems to be happening.”

Comic diehards will know Ross as having deep connections with Black Panther – so seeing him return in the character’s first solo film would be rather excellent. But with his connections to the government and military in the MCU, we could see him weaving in and out of quite a few films for some time to come.

Next up in the news, what happens when you have Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans ask you to pick a side in the Team Tony vs Team Cap debate?

Well, as it turns out, if you’re Stan Lee, you take a stand.

Finally, weighing in on the big showdown, the directing duo of Joe and Anthony Russo have acted out (with the use of action figures) their “alternative” ending to Civil War.

Could this have been the legitimate alternative ending? Oh boy we hope so. That’s one for the DVD.
