COMIC REVIEW: FTN reviews The Flash Annual #3

The introduction to the New 52 Wally West continues! But Barry…what’re you doing?

Venditti and Jensen continue on their path of making a really solid Flash story. An appearance by Grodd was surprising, and I thoroughly enjoyed a few certain name drops. I can tell I’m going to like their dynamic between Barry and Wally, and probably Iris, too. I liked the jump back and forth between the present and future, though felt it was a little jumpy and needed to be explained more. I understand that it’s part of the overall arc of the story, but I’m getting a little impatient, and hope more information comes out about it all soon. Like about Iris’s older brother Rudy? That seems to be not so much a continuity error but a…something? I’m not sure, that whole arc about Daniel and the West family struggles didn’t mention another West sibling as far as I remember.

Booth and Frez did a great job in their respective sections and I really appreciated how the work was split up. Personally, I found Booth’s faces and Frenz’s landscapes and backgrounds the best part of each person’s work, but regardless, Andrew Dalhouse’s colors tied it all together beautifully.

I can’t be the only one who thinks Barry is about to be in for a huge change, right? I mean, after all, he’s going back in time to kill himself! And I thought my life was complicated!
