At Disney’s D23 Expo’s live-action panel, Alan Horn chairman of Walt Disney Studios confirmed that Star Wars Episode VII will have a summer 2015 release. Horn’s announcement ends any possible speculation about Disney pushing the film to the fall of 2015 to avoid competing with its other major tent-pole film of the summer, The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Horn didn’t reveal anything else about Episode VII, which was not surprising given that Disney CEO Bob Iger stated yesterday that his company was not ready to share any significant information about Star Wars Episode VII.
