The recent Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer has seen some online geeks speculate that the new film is directly connected to Avengers: Age of Ultron.
During one of the brief clips, we see Donald Glover appear briefly off to the side of Logan Marshall-Green, with the latter holding a high-tech weapon. Is that weapon Chitauri-based?
Some are asking this because when Marshall-Green shoots a powerful beam of some sort from the weapon you’ll notice that it appears to be a robotic-like hand opening up after he pulls the trigger. Has this been modified after the Battle of New York? With the Big Apple being the home of our favourite web crawler it could well be. Another online user is also speculating that the weapon could be a salvaged arm of an Ultron Sentry.
Wherever the weapon comes from I’m sure we’ll get some connection from previous Marvel films and not just from seeing the appearance of Iron Man.
We’ll know for certain next July with the release of the film.
