According to Deadline, Jack Coleman, who played Noah Bennet aka The man in the horn-rimmed glasses aka HRG will return in NBC’s 13-episode miniseries Heroes Reborn. Coleman is the first actor to sign on for the 2015 show from Heroes creator Tim Kring.
HRG, a former agent with the Company and father to cheerleader Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere), started off as a recurring character and was promoted to regular midway through Season 1.
NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt revealed last month:
“Some of the familiar faces from the show are bound to drop in”
The trade adds that a handful of the original stars have been approached so far, with Zachary Quinto (Sylar) and Milo Ventimiglia (Peter), said to not be available for now.
The original series chronicled the life-changing stories of a series of unrelated ordinary people who discovered they had superhuman abilities. As the saga unfolded, they learned they were part of a grand plan that brought them together to change the world.
Along with Heroes Reborn, NBC will launch a digital series prior to the 2015 premiere that will introduce the characters and new storylines.
Plot details for the new episodes are being kept under wraps, but the 13 episodes are said to follow a new stand-alone story arc.
