There’s probably one or two (ahem) Harry Potter fans on here… in fact, we’re prepared to take a guess that a large amount of you are Potter fans – I know I am and my son is currently halfway through the final book – so I reckon we’re all very excited at the idea of JK Rowling returning to the world of children’s fiction.
Well, it looks lie it may well happen soon…
Speaking to Radio 2’s Simon Mayo, the Potter author said: “I have an idea for a children’s book, actually I have written part of a children’s book that I really love, so I’m definitely going to finish that. There will be another children’s book.”
Rowling was on the show as here crime writing alter ego Robert Galbraith, promoting her new book Career of Evil, the latest book in the Cormoran Strike detective series and despite having written three books under the name, Rowling is confident she will return as, em, herself: “I’m not going to give you an absolute date because things are busy… but I’d definitely write more novels as JK Rowling – novels in the plural, I have so many ideas.”
She added: “I sometimes worry I’ll die before I’ve written them all out. That’s my midlife crisis – that I will leave this earth without having written them all.”
We all hope this doesn’t happen because the idea of a potential series to rival Harry Potter is a very, very tantalising one, indeed…
