Lucasfilm has registered new domains for what appears to be several unannounced Star Wars projects. Fusible has spotted multiple new domains filed by Lucasfilm on May 6, all of which redirect to StarWars.com including:
gunganfrontier2.com
starwarsalliance.com
starwarsrebels.com
starwarswolfpack.com
wolfpackadventures.net
wookieehunters.com
order67.net
This comes just days two after EA revealed on Monday that it has signed a multi-year deal with Lucasfilm parent company Disney to secure the rights to develop and publish “core” new Star Wars games. As part of the deal, Disney retains “certain rights” to develop new titles within the mobile, social, tablet and online game categories.
No word yet on whether these registered domains are for upcoming films, games, or the follow-up to the Clone Wars animated series. But Gungan Frontier is a Star Wars educational game for PC from 1999. Wookiee Hunter has me thinking Boba Fett, as he famously wears their braided pelts as trophies.
EA stated this week there would be no Star Wars games from its developers DICE and Visceral until April 2014 at the earliest.
Following the closure of the video game development section of LucasArts, Lucasfilm has yet to reveal its plans for in-house development of Star Wars games.
