Marvel’s C2E2 panel ended with a special tease for a fall event called AXIS. As you can see in the image above, the Avengers “A” and the X-Men “X” are part of the word “axis,” implying it will star both teams.
We had no more info on the event until recently.
Diamond’s next issue of Previews has AXIS art by Jim Cheung on the cover. The AXIS line-up shown is Green Goblin, Loki, Sabretooth, Red Skull, Doctor Doom and Carnage.
To go along with that Marvel released a piece of promo art, also by Jim Cheung. This one features the heroes Storm, Thor, Iron Man, Luke Cage, Medusa, and Deadpool ( a sometime hero).
