New BBC America Doctor Who series 9 trailer is the most pointless thing you’ll ever watch

BBC America have decided that it’s time to begin promoting the ninth series of Doctor Who, which is allegedly set to begin broadcasting in September.

But instead of the usual montage of clips from upcoming episodes or even a monologue from the Doctor, as seen in previous series trailers, this time around we get an up close look at… the Tardis.

More specifically – it’s exterior.  Thats right – it’s a teaser trailer focusing on a blue wooden box.  It’s actually laughable how the camera zooms and swoops around the Tardis – it’s akin to trying to make a shoe look exciting, and is as thrilling as watching cardboard exist.

Possibly the biggest non-story I’ve ever posted here on FTN, I’d like to personally apologise for even considering this as news, but some people out there may want to see this so my hands are tied.

For the rest of you, with Doctor Who series 9 kicking off later in the year perhaps we’ll get some decent trailers as we approach it’s start date.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
