The end of Dexter is upon us! Before we know it the series will be over, and we are either going to be happy with the outcome, or very pissed off. I don’t think it’s the kind of show that will lead to mixed feelings. Showtime has released a new trailer and promo poster for the final season. The trailer is packed full of footage from season 8, and it gives us a good idea of what we can expect to see.
So only 12 episodes remain before the series ends. On top of the returning cast members, the final season stars Charlotte Rampling as a psychiatrist specializing in serial killers, and Sean Patrick Flanery as Deb’s new detective agency boss. Yvonne Strahovski is also set to make her return as Dexter’s twisted love interest, Hanna McKay.
There is a bit of a tease though as producer Manny Coto in an interview with Deadline said that we could possibly see a spin-off series somewhere down the road:
“There are all sorts of possibilities. All kinds of ideas have been discussed, but there is nothing happening right now. This season is about this season playing out the trajectory of the Dexter character.”
Dexter’s whole dynamic has shifted; he’s in a crazy intense situation where he’s forced to survive. How will it all end?
And do you want a spin-off? Starring who?
It’s set to premiere on June 30th, 2013. I can’t wait!
