The newest trailer for Roland Emmerich‘s action movie White House Down includes more action, fun character moments, and as you’d expect from Emmerich, the destruction of famous Washington DC landmarks. I wasn’t sure about this at first and to be honest I’m still not, but it looks to have some funny parts at least. I’m not sure if funny is what you’re going for in a movie that the White House gets attacked though.
“Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.”
The film also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, and James Woods. It’s set to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.
