We’ve known for some time now that Resident Evil 6 would be the last movie of the franchise that Paul W.S. Anderson plans to do, so it’s fitting that the next film is tentatively titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
Speaking with Collider, Anderson revealed:
“I’m right in the middle of [the first draft].”
When asked if the title indicated an end to the series:
“That’s what’s on the title page. It’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so absolutely.”
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has yet to set a filming or release schedule.
The last film Resident Evil: Retribution, opened September 2012, and took in $240 million worldwide on a budget of $65 million.
