Matt Fraction is writing a new Marvel comic starring the Inhumans. Spinning out of his current Fantastic Four run, The Inhumans will divide into separate houses, the House Of Medusa, The House Of Maximus, and other noble Houses centered around the Inhuman Royal family. The Houses, are from different locations, with different ambitions and political motivations. This may sound familiar to Game of Thrones fans, and that is probably what Marvel is going for. Multiple sources now say that Marvel is also planning a movie to match this theme. This is not the first time a Inhumans movie has been brought up.
Back in 2011 The Inhumans were on Marvel Studios’ list of possible films. A trade report in March 2011 stated:
“The Inhumans are aliens who were put on Earth as sleeper cell agents to eventually call back their race to take over the planet. Ultimately, the group of aliens fully assimilates and don’t want to cause war.”
A few months after that , Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly that if an Inhumans film ever happened it would be as:
“an X-Men style ensemble a la The Avengers.”
As recent as November of 2012, Stan Lee reported that the film was in development. But Marvel has been strangely quiet about the matter. Maybe we’ll hear more after Guardians of the Galaxy comes out?
