According to The Hollywood Reporter Simon Kinberg is coming on to write Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot. He will also be a producer on the project, joining Matthew Vaughn, whom he worked with on X-Men: First Class.

Fox has been working on a reboot for quite some time, with Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin all having worked on versions.

Sources tell THR that Kinberg may be overhauling the script substantially. It appears that Josh Trank will remain on board to direct the movie. No word on any casting candidates. The release date is still set for March 6, 2015.

Kinberg is familiar to the Marvel universe, well at least Fox’s corner. He worked on X-Men: Last Stand and produced X-Men: First Class and is working with Vaughn as co-writer and producer of Fox’s upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
