SPOILERS: Guardians of the Galaxy cameos and easter eggs revealed

July 17th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

According to Stitch Kingdom, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios have provided them with the full credited cast list for director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy and it revealed the cameos in the film and spoilers for the post credit scene.

Stan Lee will have his customary cameo, this time as the “Xandarian Ladies Man.” Captain Mal himself Nathan Fillion is the “Monstrous Inmate,” who learns not to mess with Groot’s friends. Lloyd Kaufman friend of Gunn (the co-founder of the Troma Entertainment film studio) is also one of the inmates. Musician Rob Zombie lends his voice as the “Ravager Navigator Voice.” Writer/director James Gunn will appear in the film as one of the “Maskless Sakaarans.” Composer Tyler Bates has an uncredited cameo as a Ravager Pilot.

James Gunn teased Cosmo early in production, although not voiced by Fillion as many thought, the russian astronaut dog will be in the film. There is one more thing Howard the Duck is in the film, many believe in the post credits scene as Seth Green is voicing him. There is a line in the end titles that credits co-creators Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik.

Imagine Rocket and Howard possibly on the big screen together?

It’s been confirmed both Cosmo and Howard are in the film. There is also a dark elf and Chitauri in Taneleer Tivan’s (The Collector) collection as well as something in a red cape (Beta Ray Bill?).

An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Guardians of the Galaxy is being directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, with Academy Award winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set for July 31st in the UK and on August 1st in the US.
