The first teaser pics of the live-action Gatchaman movie!

April 11th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

This is based on the anime Gatchaman, which you may remember came out in the U.S as Battle of the Planets and later it was G-Force.

The most extreme stuff like violence and suicide were all edited out in both cases for U.S audiences.

The name Battle of the Planets was actually an attempt to captilize on the Star Wars phenomenon. The G-Force team themselves would use a combination of martial arts skill, ninja-like weapons, and their “cerebonic” powers to dispatch hordes of enemy soldiers and overcome other obstacles.

Their bird-like costumes include wing-like capes that could fan out and function nearly identically to parachutes and/or wing suits, enabling the G-Force members to drift or glide down to safety from heights which would otherwise prove fatal.

The images are from the film’s official site: a collage of the five heroes closeup and then an image of them on a Gatchaman logo at night.
