The Stath to film Expendables 3 and Fast & Furious 7 back-to-back

At a press day for his upcoming gritty indie flick Hummingbird (for US audiences it’s called Redemption), Coming Soon.net got to chat with Jason Statham about his role in Fast & Furious 6 and his plans for the next film in the series.

While the English actor confirmed said he was “really excited to be a part of that franchise”, he also said that work on the next film won’t interfere with the production time for Expendables 3.

“No, we’ve worked it out. I’m gonna be able to do the two back-to-back. Let’s just say for the next seven weeks I’m gonna do nothing,” he said.

“I’m gonna lay on my back and do nothing, and then go to work. It’s great to have two ensemble pieces where the weight’s not on my shoulders, it’s just gonna have a little fun and enjoy myself.”

As for Fast and Furious 7, Statham said fans would have to wait and see if he and Vin Diesel will clash ‘bald’ heads.

“We’ll have to wait and see. (laughs) I’m sure that’s what they want me to say,” he added.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
