During some spare time on the set of Fast and Furious 7 Vin Diesel made a video of himself practicing being 7-1/2-feet-tall for the role of Groot, and posted it on his Facebook page.
While hopping around on set , he also ran into his fellow stars Kurt Russell and Djimon Hounsou, the latter of who is playing Korath in Guardians of the Galaxy. At around the 3 minute mark the actor confirms what we all believed:
“My father taught me there are no small roles, only small actors. I only have one line in the movie, but that doesn’t mean anything. I’m still going to make it the best possible thing I can.”
Guardians of the Galaxy is being directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, with Academy Award winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set for August 1st, 2014.
