Zack Snyder officially set to direct a Justice League movie!

April 28th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

The Wall Street Journal reports that not only is there a plan for Justice League, but has also that Man of Steel helmer Zack Snyder will make the ensemble blockbuster his followup to 2016’s Batman vs Superman.

Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman revealed to them:

“It will be a further expansion of this universe, Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League.”

According to WSJ, a script is still in development and WB has not set a release date, though the movie is unlikely to come out before 2018. Mr. Silverman would not comment on what other heroes might join op.

The movie will likely once again feature Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

If you’re waiting for a Wonder Woman film you may be disappointed though.

WSJ says there are no plans for Justice League spinoff featuring Gadot’s Wonder Woman,  although WB executives said they are warm to the idea.

Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing:

“That is our hope. With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her.”

Could be viable? It sounds like the world may be ready, but WB is not.

Warner Bros. has several other movies in development not connected to the Justice League film that are based on titles from its Vertigo line, said Mr. Silverman and Toby Emmerich, president of Warner’s New Line Cinema label.

They include Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables.

Shazam not coonected to Justice League? That seems odd.

Well, what do you think?
