Comingsoon has announced that Scooby-Doo is about to get yet another film.

The film is set to reunite American Hustle producers Charles Rovan and Richard Suckle, “who previously produced WB’s successful live-action features Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.” Allison Abbate, who produced Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride and Frankinweenie, is also set to be joining them.

Tony Cervone, “who has a history with Shaggy and the gang,” will direct the film.

Sue Kroll, one of the executives of Warner Bros, explained how wonderful it will be “working with this talented and inspired team of filmmakers. We couldn’t ask for better producers… who have such affection and respect for this property and know the Hanna-Barbera universe so well.”

Greg Silverman, another executive from Warner Bros, stated that; “Scooby-Doo will take the lead in re-introducing this pantheon of enduringly popular animated stars on a grand scale with an exciting new movie.”

I remember watching the live-action films and not being too impressed but my childhood was that of the animated TV series, ‘What’s New Scooby-Doo’ which ran from 2002 to 2006. The franchise itself has been on air in many different adaptations since 1969 with the latest ‘Be Cool Scooby-Doo’.

The film is set for release in September 2018.
