It’s hardly the first time, but a new rumour is adding to the speculation that Ben Affleck may be returning to the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne for longer than the Snyder Cut and The Flash movies.
Word on the nerdvine is that HBO Max high-ups want Affleck to come back to the Batman gig beyond their airing of Justice League: The Snyder Cut and are interested in a movie or perhaps series featuring the star in the titular gig.
It seems that HBO Max has reached out to Affleck and made an offer (“the ball is in his court”) and it’s up to the actor if he takes the gig or not, with speculation being that he wants to wait and see how well Justice League is received before he says yes or no.
HBO Max is interested in some kind of Batfleck continuation. However, Ben Affleck has not given any sort of decision yet and has not confirmed if he is interested. The ball is in his court. It also comes down to how The Snyder Cut does for HBO Max.
This is curious given the new confirmation that The Flash movie will ‘restart’ everything (here) – whatever that means – leading to speculation that, as we heard and said ourselves, the Snyder DCEU will continue on HBO Max while the main movies etc will continue on the big screen. Multiverse, baby.
Whatever direction it takes, I’m totally on board to see Affleck back in the role – what say you all, gang? Let me know.
