Resident Evil is a well known franchise in both the film and gaming industry. The films themselves are based onthe game, which first came out on Playstation, back in 1996.

Well, regrettably (? – Ed) Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is to be the end of the franchise. I know, with a name like that who would have guessed? Director Paul Anderson “has stated that this would be a “trilogy” to end Alice’s adventures.”

According to Bloodydisgusting“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter picks up after the events of Resident Evil: Retribution, as the Project Alice (Milla Jovovich) is forced to race against time before the villainous Red Queen attempts to destroy the final remnants of humanity.”

As if we haven’t suffered enough.

Ali Later, whose character Clair Redfield was last seen in Resident Evil: Afterlife, is apparently set to return. Upon speaking about the film she explained how it will be “wrapping up the whole series [and] this is definitely a female power movie.”

She also explained that “[to] be able to come back and reprise my role as Claire… I’m excited to get back into it. I think the fans are just going to be beyond excited.”

The film is set for release in January 2017
